Harry is my almost 4-year-old son, and he has autism and severe apraxia of speech. Because of these challenges, Harry needs an assistive communication device that will help him express himself and interact with the world around him as he goes through intensive speech therapy. The cost for an assistive communication device and the specialized program that will give him a voice is steep and difficult to get covered by insurance. Unfortunately, due to his age, most government grants don’t apply, making it even harder to access the support he needs. We are fundraising to provide Harry with an iPad, a protective case and strap, and the app that has been recommended for him to use.

Having this device will be life-changing for Harry. It will allow him to communicate his needs, wants, and feelings, giving him the opportunity to participate in the world around him. Harry is incredibly smart, but his communication barriers keep him locked inside his own head. With your support, we hope to give him the tools he needs to unlock his potential and connect with others in meaningful ways.
