For those who don't know I met my soulmate when I was travelling through Iran in mid 2018. We have since become engaged and I couldn't be happier with the direction my life has taken :)
Obviously, there are visa and financial complications associated with marrying someone from a high-risk country like Iran. Since deciding to marry, I have been faced with the huge costs of visa processing and legal fees, as well as travel expenses flying back to Iran to visit her family etc. The visa processing fee alone is $7,160, plus all the other thousands of dollars I have spent on immigration lawyers and the rest (double the visa fee).
I have covered the visa costs thanks to hard work, loans, and living an extremely frugal life for the past 6 months, which involved sacrificing time spent with friends for hospitality work. (Also, I have sold most of my possessions and have been living in my mum's attic).
Debts aside, the visa is submitted, but due to strict Australian immigration laws, I can't bring Tina to Australia until her visa is approved which takes 15-21 months. They don't even approve tourist visas for people from Iran.
As i'm sure you lovebirds will understand, a long distance relationship for a period that long would be an enormous strain. I have experienced this already having been separated from her for months at a time.
So! I have purchased a one-way ticket to Iran and plan to do what I can to survive and live in Iran and Turkey for as long as I can with beautiful little Tina. I aim to be there for a year. We would choose to live in a country where we can earn a decent wage but unfortunately Tina is restricted from travelling to most destinations because of her Iranian passport. I plan to get her out of Iran and into Turkey soon due to a potential war with Iran and the US.
Basically, I am going with only enough money for a modest holiday to Bali, which won't get me far. I plan to work over there and do whatever it takes to allow me to be with my loved one. I have already organised some work on farms and vineyards. As you can imagine, the wage they pay in Iran and turkey is close to nothing, so I will mainly be doing volunteer work.
All I ask is that you consider throwing a few dollars my way to help me out of the potential hard times ahead while i'm roughing it, trying to make ends meet. Your contribution will ease financial strain and afford us some free time when we need it the most. Let your adventurous romantic side live vicariously through me! As a token of my appreciation I promise to give you a souvenir from my travels or a print of one of my photos.
