Help Harrison's Battle

Donation protected
In May of 2021, our oldest son Harrison was diagnosed with High Risk B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at 3 years old. At the time of his cancer diagnosis, his younger brothers were almost 2 years old, and 8 months old. This diagnosis turned our world upside down. Harrison’s Grandmother had to move down from Washington to live with us and help with childcare for the younger two boys, while we continued to work and travel back and forth with Harrison to the hospital.

Before being diagnosed with cancer, Harrison loved to ride his bike, play on our inflatable slides, and run around with the neighborhood kids. However, the cancer slowed him down and he wasn’t able to enjoy the activities he loved. Most of the days required him to lay in bed and face challenges like learning how to walk upstairs again. Harrison loves to build Lego sets and play with anything that has wheels (cars, trains, airplanes, monster trucks, and dirt bikes). His favorite movies to watch during visits are Cars, Planes, Paw Patrol, The Incredibles, and all the Toy Story’s. All of those little things help bring him comfort and make the time go by.

Harrison had a surgery to place a port-a-cath in his chest to receive his chemotherapy, he has had several bone marrow biopsies and numerous spinal/lumbar punctures to date. He has received several blood transfusions, platelets and an IVIG infusion. He’s been admitted to the hospital several times for unexplained fevers, one stay lasting 10 days. One phase of his treatment required him to be admitted to the hospital for a week, four separate times. His treatment plan is 2.5 years long and has about one year left of active treatment. His EOT (End Of Treatment) is August 24, 2023. If everything goes according to plan, he will have another surgery six months after EOT to remove his port. Once treatment is over, unfortunately, the risk or relapse is something that will need to be closely monitored. He will have years of frequent scans to make sure the cancer hasn’t returned. We are hopeful that this won't happen and he can enjoy childhood without cancer. As you can imagine, this journey has been emotionally draining for all of us and the medical/associated costs with the process are mounting. If you can help in any way our family would be truly grateful. Thank you all.
