Help Harrison “Hunk” Heal
Donation protected
As some of you have heard my nephew, Harrison Stacklie (son of Jessie & Olen), had an accident yesterday (6.24.23).
He was playing at a birthday party and accidentally fell backwards into a campfire pit. He landed in the pit causing burns on his butt, lower back, mid-back, hands (right hand worse) forearms and feet. He was rushed to the emergency room immediately after the fall where he was stabilized and then airlifted via helicopter to the burn unit at HCMC. Jessie was able to fly with him and Olen took off via car to meet them there. Once they got there they were placed in a room where they worked to get him situated and keep him comfortable for the night. This morning they performed a thorough cleaning of the burns and removal/scraping of the tissues to try to get a clearer picture/staging of the wounds. It is still unclear the degree of the burns. This will be further evaluated over the next few days to determine that and the the next steps. At this time they have the pain under control, are keeping a close eye on the wounds and are encouraging him to practice therapy and keep moving by riding his trike through the halls as fast as he can, shooting hoops from his hospital bed and playing games! He’s hamming it up with all the nurses typical Harrison (Hunk) style and is known by all in the unit already!
We are so thankful that he is doing as well as he is at this point but are also aware of the reality of what is and what lies ahead…we know that the doctors will be able to help Harrison and get him back up and at ‘em but we also know that this will be a long, slow process. Jessie and Olen will be with him during the hospital stay while developing a treatment plan and there after in which the timing is unknown.
So many of you have reached out with prayers and encouragement! THANK YOU!!! We are SO grateful!
Many have also asked what they can do or how they can help…as we all know with situations like these come financial concerns of medical bills, missed work and expenses of living away from home. At this time the greatest help would be to make a contribution here to help allow Jessie and Olen to focus on helping Harrison heal and not having to worry about the financial burden associated with this accident.
Again, THANK YOU for the outpouring of love and support! We will do our best to keep you updated here on our “Hunk”!
