Help Abby Get Ready for a New Life!!

Donation protected
The text came in Wednesday afternoon with a photo of a small-ish dog sniffing at a front door. I knew nothing except that she needed help. Found on a property off of Whites Creek Pike by the Contractor earlier that day - He was able to feed her some of his lunch (pork ribs! - yasss) and then reached out for help. What do I do??? What can anyone do?? A group who received the message said - uh oh - we gotta do something. I happened to the be one who could mobilize at the moment and get there quickly to see what the situation was. Upon arrival I was greeted by a pup who had just finished a big bowl of food and was happy to engage me. Upon first look - she had some facial injuries and looked as though she'd been on the road for a bit of time. Once I actually saw more I was taken aback, and unsure about what on earth to do next. Along with the basic lacerations and minor injuries on her head and face I then discovered that all of the skin and flesh on her lower jaw had been ripped away from the bone and was hanging loose. It wasn't pretty. Our photos have been blurred and edited to allow not to have anyone have an adverse reaction but I will go ahead and be honest and say if I didn't have a strong stomach I would have given up my lunch. This poor precious soul had either been put in a situation where she had to fight for her life due to human interaction or she had been horribly attacked by a wild animal. And yet.. she was wagging her tail and completely willing to get in my car and rest on a towel to get to my home. She met my husband in the back yard and wagged her tail and wanted to meet him and be loved on. It has now been a few days and after her initial vet visit and a few days of decompression she is looking toward her surgery on Thursday the 21st at Animal House Veterinary Hospital where they will hopefully be able to repair her lower jaw to allow her to fully function and make sure she has her spay and shots and all of the necessary things. Any help is appreciated as this one is not offically sponsored by a resuce but is being housed and supported by a group within the community. Our goal is to get this 1-2 year old girl HEALTHY and THRIVING and into a new home with love and care for the rest of her life. Any amount is fully appreciated. $1, $5, $50 or more if you're able will all be responsibly used for her medical expenses and continued care. (ps. anyone who donates is welcome to ask for receipts because all money goes to the dog. period end of story. no money goes to people. Thank you for your support to help Harriet get Healthy!!!
