Help Harri get to the WKU World Karate Championships
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Nicky and I'm fundraising on behalf of my son Harri to get him to the WKU World Karate Championships.
Harri has been doing karate since he was about 5 years old. It is his passion, he lives and breathes karate. Karate teaches discipline, respect, and first and foremost if you are in trouble, run away.
Anyone who knows Harri will know he is a gentle soul, mature, funny, with a heart of gold and always willing to help anyone. If you met him you would know that he truly is one in a million. Over the years he has raised money for the Excema Society, Dementia Uk and a few weeks ago helped raise money for Tough Enough To Care by taking part in the Dragon Boat Racing at Himley Hall.
For the last 10 months, as well as his karate training 4 times a week, he has been doing an extra day of training over in Swadlincote once a month and has been competing in various competitions. He trains at TDA Karate which on a Monday has classes at the Leisure Centre in Wombourne, Bamford Primary School , Cosely on a Tuesday and Wednesday then Summerhill School, Kingswinford on a Sunday. He helps his Sensai with the lower grades and always has time to help others.
We heard a few weeks ago that he has been selected to represent England in the WKU World Championships (WKU = World Kickboxing and Karate Union) in Trier, Germany from 26/10/25 to 1/11/25. He has been entered into four categories, Kata, Traditional Weapons, Kumite 70kg and over and Kumite 75kg and over.
The competition is fully self funded, and we need to raise money for flights, category entries, medicals, insurance, license, kits and hotels.
I've spoken to the charity Tough Enough To Care, and he will be having their logo on his tops.
Earlier this year with he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. As a family this has been tough on us all but I'm so incredibly proud of him and the way he has dealt with the situation. He is determined to show people that having diabetes does not stop you from going for or achieving your goals. To take control of your life, your circumstances, to rise above any difficulties and aim for.
We know that times are tough for people, but any donation however small is greatly appreciated
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
