Update:
It absolutely breaks my heart to share this update. After several days of hospitalization, medication, and doing everything we could, I had to make the incredibly painful decision to let Harper cross the rainbow bridge. She was in so much pain, even with all of the medications, and, despite all efforts, was not showing any signs of improvement.
After speaking in depth with the veterinary teams and learning more about the surgery, I came to understand that it would be far more complex than I originally thought, with no guarantee of a full recovery. I couldn’t bear the thought of putting her through more suffering.
I am beyond grateful for the kindness and generosity everyone has shown. Your donations made a meaningful difference—they helped cover her hospital bills and allowed us to have her cremated so that my children can keep her close to them always.
Thank you for your support, your prayers, and for loving Harper with us. She meant the world to our family and always will. ❤️
I never imagined I would have to ask for help like this, but I’m doing it for someone who means the world to our family—our dog, Harper.
Harper recently suffered a serious spinal injury and has now lost the use of her front legs. She can no longer stand up on her own. Watching this happen has been absolutely heartbreaking. One day she was running, playing, and full of life… and now she struggles just to move. Seeing her in this much pain is absolutely devastating.
Harper isn’t just a pet to us—she’s family. She’s been my constant companion and source of comfort, but she’s also someone incredibly special to my oldest son, Alex. Harper is Alex’s best friend. They’ve grown up together, sharing cuddles, playtime, and so many everyday moments that mean everything. Harper has always been by his side, and their bond is something truly special.
Seeing Harper in pain and unable to move has been incredibly hard for our entire family, especially for Alex. We just want our sweet, happy girl back.
The veterinarians have told us that her spine is not broken, but something is compressing her spinal cord/nerve(s), causing her extreme pain and making it so that she cannot use her front legs and can hardly lift her head. She has been hospitalized for two days now and the veterinary team believes that spinal surgery is Harper’s best chance to regain mobility and relieve her pain, however, time is of the essence to prevent permanent damage and without the surgery, her condition may not improve at all. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery, imaging, hospitalization, and recovery care is far more than we can afford on our own.
I would do absolutely anything for Harper. She has given our family so much love, loyalty, and comfort, and she deserves every chance to heal.
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount would help us get closer to giving Harper the surgery she needs. And if you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean the world and could help it reach someone who can.
Thank you for taking the time to read Harper’s story and for any kindness you can give. Harper is more than a dog—she’s part of our family and Alex’s best friend. We’re fighting with everything we have to give her the chance to walk, play, and be the happy girl she’s always been. ❤️
