Thank you for taking the time to read Harper May's story. Harper May is a 5-year old Boxer/Hound mix. She has two names because I couldn't get rid of the name given to her , May, when I adopted her from a local Humane Society. A name to honor her past and present. Well this May-we were thrown for a loop.
In late May, Harper was boop bopping around but seemed to have an ever so slight limp. It seemed as if she tweaked her leg some. In the following days, the limped lingered and looked like it was getting better. Then one morning Harper woke up not able to bear weight and swelling around her wrist. She was taken to the vet as soon as she could be fit in that day. It was thought that maybe she had soft tissue damage. X-rays revealed what no one expected. A lesion on her wrist that appeared to be bone cancer. Further X-rays showed no evidence of cancer spread in her body. Recent testing and visits with Oncologist confirmed it is Osteosarcoma.
(Above a photo of Harper May's leg bandaged to make it easier for her to walk)
So now Harper May will require medical intervention to give her the best and longest life possible. She is currently on a few pain medications to make walking more feasible. The money raised will go towards an amputation surgery, rehab, treatments, and medicines. Any donations will help her live the best tripawd life possible. All donations are deeply appreciated no matter the size.
I know there is a lot going on in the world and each of our lives. Harper May has helped me through so many hard moments especially this past year and half. She gives such unconditional and pure love. Okay there is a little sass mixed in too.
I want to help her live more life and continue to bring joy into any she encounters. If you decide not to donate to this cause-I understand. But please go donate to a cause that makes the world a little better.
