Hi everyone,
I’m asking for help for my 6 year old dog, Harper, my German Shepherd / Blue Heeler mix and truly my best friend and companion.
Harper was suddenly rushed to the vet after becoming extremely weak and lethargic. After emergency testing, the doctors diagnosed her with Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA), a life threatening condition where her body is attacking and destroying its own red blood cells.
She has been admitted to emergency for around 5 days of intensive care and will require multiple blood transfusions to survive. She is being monitored 24/7, receiving medications, oxygen support, and critical treatment to stabilize her.
The official cost of her emergency hospitalization is approximately $13,000, plus $1,250 from the original vet visit, bringing the total close to $14,250. I’ve set the goal at $15,000 to cover her immediate treatment and follow up care.
I never imagined being in this position so soon. Harper is only 6 years old. She’s full of life, loyal beyond words, and has been by my side through everything. Watching her fight for strength has been heartbreaking but she is fighting and I’m not giving up on her.
Financially speaking this is a cost I was not ready for and this level of emergency care is overwhelming.
If you’re able to donate even $5 or $10 it truly helps. And if you can’t donate, sharing this page means just as much.
To all who know her or to those who have only recently met Harper through your screen, Thank you for giving her the chance she deserves.
I’ll continue to post updates as she fights through this.
With gratitude,
Ethan
