Hello, My name is Amanda Litteral, and I created this fundraiser on behalf of my daughter, Harmony.

Harmony is 13 years old. She is a normal teenager who loves to swim, crochet, show rabbits, and enjoy everything outdoors. She has Alpha-Gal Syndrome ( a rare syndrome brought on by a lone star tick bite. This disease causes extreme allergies and reactions to all mammalian meat and mammalian bi-products. This is not just food, it is ALL products. Harmony has to have special soaps, hair products and personal items. ) She was diagnosed in October of 2021. After several SEVERE reactions, she was finally diagnosed with another rare disorder: Mast Cell Activation Syndrome.

Harmony was initially treated at UK, then referred to Cincinnati Childrens. Her condition is so complex and unique that they feel it necessary that she be seen at Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where they have more resources and experience treating AGS and MCAS in juvenilles.

This diagnoses has turned our families  life upside down. We have had to modify everything we eat, She has to be closely monitored, and cannot leave home without her emergency allergy bag. Harmonys reactions are almost daily, The mental toll it's taken on her has been unimaginable. We dont know from day to day how bad her reactions are, and sometimes it takes a while to even find the trigger. Recently while at school, it was necessary to be transported by ambulance to UK due to anaphylaxis.   Then a week later, following a simple same day procedure in Cincinnati, we had an unexpected hospital stay, Due to anesthesia reactions.
