Hi. My name is Jessica and this is our cat, Harlie —
aka one of the sweetest little creature we've have ever been owned by.
At the end of October 2025, right after we returned from my uncle’s memorial in Florida, I noticed Harlie’s chin looked a little swollen.
By the next morning, it wasn’t “a little” anymore.
It was massive.
We rushed her to the vet on an urgent care basis.
At first, we were told to wait a week and see if it improved.
It didn’t.
It got worse.
In November, Harlie had the mass biopsied.
The results came back: cancer.
I immediately contacted WSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital, but the soonest oncology appointment they had available was January 12, 2026 — so we waited. And worried. And watched this thing continue to grow on my sweet girl’s face.
Since then Harlie has been through:
Biopsy
Oncology consult at WSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital
Extensive testing, imaging, and bloodwork
This Tuesday, January 20th, Harlie and I meet with the surgeon.
If all goes as planned, she will have surgery on Wednesday the 21st or Thursday the 22nd, followed by radiation therapy.
The total bill is now estimated between $4,000–$6,000, and that’s just to get us through surgery and into the next phase of treatment.
I am a retired law enforcement officer on a fixed income, and this became financially overwhelming faster than I could process it. One minute we were grieving my uncle… and the next we were trying to save our cat.
Here’s the part that guts me:
Harlie doesn’t even know she’s sick.
The tumor is huge now and eating has become difficult for her — but her spirit is untouched. She still demands snacks, judges us, head-butts the dogs and lives her best little cat life like nothing is wrong.
Honestly?
I don’t think she even knows it’s there.
And we're not done fighting for her.
I’ve applied for help through WSU’s Good Samaritan Program and reached out to six additional organizations, but no matter what comes back, I can’t do this alone.
So here I am.
Asking.
Which I absolutely suck at.
✨If you can donate — thank you from the bottom of my heart.
✨If you can share — that matters just as much.
I✨f you can send prayers, good vibes, love, or a very aggressive middle finger to cancer — We'll take all of it.
Harlie isn’t done living yet.
And we're not done fighting for her.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you for caring.
And thank you for helping us save our cat.
