Help Harley with Her Fight Against Lymphoma
Hi, everyone! My name is Kevin Ibanez. My family and I have a black German Shepherd named Harley. Harley just turned 5 on July 13th and on the same day she also had a doctor’s appointment because we noticed she wasn’t eating and seemed lethargic and unmotivated. A couple of days later, we got a phone call from the veterinarian saying that she has Lymphoma. They vet said it wasn’t looking too good and that she had maybe a month maybe 2 months most left to live. We currently have her on prednisone and she’s been doing well with it but prednisone only last so long before her body stops reacting to it and she’ll begin to decline again.
We’ve all talked about it as a family already. A lot of back and forth, a lot of disagreements, crying, fighting, and just a whole rollercoaster of emotions from everyone in the family. We’ve thought about putting her down and thought that was we ultimately going to happen but we also refuse to not at least do all that we can to at least give her a fighting chance. Harley is only 5 years old. She is also our first dog as a family. She’s is our protector, watches over us and our home and gets extremely overprotective over my 2 kids. She keeps my mom company when she’s home alone and also constantly by her side. She’s more than just our dog, she’s a big part of our family.
We have looked through our treatment options and decided to have undergo chemotherapy via pill. It’s a new medication called Laverdia-CA1. It’s not as expensive as radiation chemotherapy but still fairly expensive.
So now I’m asking everyone for any help if you contribute. It doesn’t matter the amount. Even $1 will go a long way. If you can’t donate, maybe if you can just share this with family and friends it would mean so much to us.
Thank you to everyone and God Bless.
