help harley with colon issues

Hi! I go by Elsie and this is a fundraiser for my beloved tuxedo cat Harley whose 13 years old and my best friend.

In January, I noticed Harley was straining to poop and rushed her to an emergency vet for as many services as I could raise money for.

I was told to give her miralax and lactulose and switch to Royal Canin’s gastro food and that hopefully it was a one time bout of constipation and she’d be fine.

For a while she was okay. I’ve been feeding her wet food to get her medicine into her and always have fresh water and dry Royal Canin available.

Last week she started straining again and I believe she’s been unable to poop. Yes, I know that’s a life threatening cat emergency but I know that I can’t afford the bare minimum let alone the $500 they wanted for blood work to see what the actual issue was. The vet said if it happened again, she would need surgery that costs thousands of dollars and I don’t have that and won’t have that in time to keep her safe.

I know it‘s an overwhelming amount of money but other than constipation she’s been a happy, healthy little bean and this could make or break the end of her life. I couldn’t just let her go without trying.

Covid-19 really slammed myself and my roommate financially, my credit has been destroyed by medical bills and we faced eviction and an emergency move mid-pandemic while we were both out of work. It’s been a process getting on our feet again and I know that I feel like I’m failing my baby being unable to provide her with necessary medical care that wasn’t a problem years ago.

I had some luck getting reach on Tiktok and was encouraged to make this so here I am trying to make things work for my baby.
