Help Harlem Thrive After Tragic Accident
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Tamika Hawkins. On September 29th my 3-year-old grandson Harlem Davis, to whom I am a guardian of, was involved in a very unfortunate automobile accident (Article linked below).
Harlem incurred major life threatening/altering injuries; A broken neck, severed spine and fractured pelvis. Currently he is paralyzed from the neck down- on a feeding tube, with a tracheostomy and respirator dependent.
Family and friends are thankful, grateful and blessed that he is still here with us all. Harlem went from a happy, kind, sweet thriving 3-year-old in school to becoming totally medially dependent.
Harlem will soon be headed to rehab for several months and we are hopeful, optimistic and prayerful Harlem will make a full recovery or exceed the doctor’s current prognosis based off the injuries he has sustained and live a productive life.
I am asking for your financial support to help with expenses during this time, and to help me prepare to bring Harlem home for care. I know it will be a lifelong journey. My goal currently is to be present with him 24/7 and focus on his healing and rehabilitation going forward.
I am asking for assistance with everyday household expenses. I have had to stop working to be with him 24/7 at the hospital. Right now, I need help with everyday expenses, rent, utilities, and hospital parking fees. Gas and food etc.
I am also asking for support to get help get started with his long-term care; moving expenses- I will need to move somewhere that is handicap accessible W/ accommodations due to the level of care he will need. I would like to purchase a wheelchair accessible vehicle for medical appointments and any equipment or devices that his medical insurance will not cover. I just need help to get me started until I get this all figured out.
If you can, please help. We appreciate your prayers, help with resources and anything you can donate monetarily.
I will update this GofundMe frequently with Harlem’s progress.
Thank you so much for any and all support.
