Help Harlem Students Shine in Boston Tournament

We’re quietly building something powerful—an academic + athletic mentorship program for middle and high school boys, starting with students from my husband’s school in Harlem. Many of these boys come from low-income homes and don’t always have access to structured support systems outside of school.

Over the past two months, we’ve partnered with a local AAU basketball program and have been covering travel, uniforms, and meals out of our own pockets—just to give these boys the chance to show up and shine.

This weekend, the boys have an opportunity to travel to Boston for a 2-day tournament. More students want to join—but can’t afford the cost. We want to say YES, but we need your help to get them there.

This is more than basketball. It’s about showing these boys what’s possible. It’s about discipline, teamwork, leadership—and making sure they know someone believes in them.

We’re also in the process of launching our nonprofit and waiting for 501(c)(3) approval. Soon, we’ll expand this program to include tutoring, financial literacy, and life skills workshops, plus a secondhand shop where proceeds fund free youth programs and support families in need.
