My name is Vyolette, and my very dear friend and medicinal healer Hannah is going through every mother’s worst nightmare: What started as severe, unexplained abdominal pain turned into a medical emergency that changed her life overnight.

Doctors originally couldn’t figure out what was wrong, so Hannah was airlifted to Oahu, where they discovered she had a dangerous hernia. To save her and her baby, they had to induce labor early.

Hannah’s tiny newborn is now fighting in the NICU, while she recovers from emergency surgery far from home. She’s been forced to stay on Oahu with her premature baby, separated from her three other children who are still on their home island.

To make things even harder, with the government shutdown, Hannah’s food stamps and other benefits have been cut off, leaving her with no financial support while she tries to heal, care for her baby, and keep her family together.
