On July 20, 2025, HannahRenée Sanders was a passenger in a single-vehicle golf cart accident that proved near fatal. Law enforcement and EMS responded on scene and transported HannahRenée to PRISMA Richland Memorial where she was rushed into emergency surgery. HannahRenée suffered extensive cranial, facial, and dental fractures, a head laceration down to the bone, multiple facial lacerations and abrasions, a concussion, and a lost tooth. “Lucky to be alive” has been often repeated by those treating her injuries. HannahRenée has had reconstructive surgery to her mouth and nose, her jaw is wired shut until at least September, and she is facing multiple reconstructive surgeries and dental procedures to her mouth to mitigate broken and lost teeth and a major facial reconstructive surgery to her orbital to come. While she is going to be okay, she has a long road ahead of her.
HannahRenée is a single mom to a three-year-old son living in a multigenerational home where she also helps her mother in the care of her grandmother. This traumatic accident and recovery will keep her away from her job at BCBS for quite a while and will spread her family thin, and the cost of HannahRenée’s medical care has quickly become astronomical. It could take months or years for any relief through disability or a court of law to come, and I am asking for HannahRenée’s fellow friends and greater community to consider monetary gifts to help keep her afloat as she recovers.
I don’t have to extoll her virtues- to know HannahRenée is to have a true friend, her work ethic has always spoken for itself, and her warmth enters every room before she does. I know every penny of generosity extended towards HannahRenée in her recovery will repaid many times over when her cup is full enough to pour from again.
Thank you for helping us help our friend.
