Help Hannah Treat Her Lyme Disease
Donation protected
Asking for money is never easy. I do so today on behalf of my dearest Hannah, a 31-year-old whose life for the last 8.5 years has been utterly upended by illness, primarily Lyme disease.
WE HAVE ALL SEEN HANNAH GROW SICKER BY THE YEAR, WITH LIMITED FUNDS TO ADEQUATELY ADDRESS THIS DISEASE. TODAY, I AM ASKING YOU TO JOIN A COMMUNITY OF LOVE AND SUPPORT AND HELP HANNAH SEEK THE COMPREHENSIVE TREATMENT SHE NEEDS.
Lyme is an insidious, poorly-understood bacterial infection that is difficult to treat if not caught right away. Symptoms are notoriously unpredictable day to day; sometimes you might feel relatively well and able to accomplish a couple of things, another day you're flat on your back in bed with no warning, making planning of any sort next to impossible. Lyme also often comes with coinfections (other diseases carried in the same tick bite), most commonly Babesia and Bartonella, complicating treatment. Hannah’s Lyme had already been eating away at her for 5 years by the time she was diagnosed, slowly robbing her of health, autonomy, and the ability to work and provide for herself.
Since her diagnosis, Hannah has always had to pick and choose from her treatment plan, based on resources available, to address the current most debilitating symptoms. This has not worked. She needs to be able to attack her illness with everything at once over the next few months, with supportive protocols to help her very stressed body get through it. Hannah’s family continues to be supportive, but the needed treatments are outpacing available resources. Without additional funding she cannot begin the next stage of treatment.
The full treatment Hannah’s doctor is recommending at this stage in her illness, including crucial support protocols, works out to $12,000 dollars after insurance for 3 months of treatment. This is our best hope to make a headway against her Lyme disease. Hannah needs your help to embark on this treatment plan - can you please join our community of love and support and kick in?
Thank you for joining me in this - it means the world.
With love and gratitude,
Krissy Thistleford
