Hello, my name is Hannah Brifo, a Ghanaian medical student at St. George’s University School of Medicine. I am writing with humility and honesty at a critical point in my medical journey.

By God’s grace, I have completed my basic sciences and passed the USMLE Step 1 — a major milestone toward becoming a physician. This journey has taken years of perseverance, sacrifice, and faith, and I have made it this far through relentless effort and an unshakable belief that I am called to serve others through medicine.

At this moment, I am facing a serious financial barrier that threatens to halt my progress. I have an outstanding tuition balance that must be resolved for me to remain enrolled and continue with clinical training. Due to circumstances beyond my control — including delays in external sponsorship support — my continuation in the program is now at risk.

The **Government of Ghana**, which has supported my education, has been unable to complete payment of my outstanding clinical fees within the required timeline. I am actively following up, but the timeline is tight, and I need help to get through the door.

Throughout my training, I have remained committed not only to academics but also to service and leadership. I have tutored and mentored junior students, represented my university in academic information sessions, served in student leadership roles, and supported community initiatives in Grenada. I deeply believe that when one is given an opportunity, there is a responsibility to give back.

I am actively doing everything within my power — writing formal petitions, exploring loans and repayment models, seeking work opportunities, and remaining open to service-based or long-term commitments, including returning to serve in Ghana. Contributions through this GoFundMe will be directed toward my tuition and basic living expenses, ensuring I can remain in school and focus on my studies. The university also provides official payment channels for transparency and accountability.

I am sharing my story because I believe in the power of community and in people who understand what it means to carry not just personal dreams, but the responsibility of something larger. I am not giving up — but I cannot do this alone.
