In July, I was hit by another driver while stopped at a light. That night, I was hospitalized with a brain bleed and whiplash, given muscle relaxers and told to take Tylenol for the pain. Since then, I’ve spent most of the past six months bedridden, struggling with severe migraines, dizziness, and constant shoulder and back pain. I started the school year on FMLA from my job in the school district, but ultimately had to quit because my body can barely handle everyday tasks. I’m not sure what’s next for me career-wise, but I know I need help to get through this difficult time.
Physical activity has always been a huge part of my life—whether it’s acro, climbing, or hiking, it’s how I connect with myself and my community. Not being able to do these things has taken a real toll, but I’m trying to keep a positive attitude and believe that my body will bounce back. Right now, I’m focused on attending physical therapy to rehab my back and preparing for court related to the accident. The financial strain of medical bills and everyday expenses has been overwhelming, and I’m reaching out for support to help cover my monthly bills while I recover.
If you’ve ever joined me for an adventure or know how much movement means to me, you know how hard this has been. Any support you can offer will make a real difference as I work toward healing and getting back to the life I love. Thank you for reading and for any help you can give.
