Help Hannah pay for surgery

Donation protected

I absolutely hate to do this ... and for those who know me know that I am the most independent person who simply refuses to ask for help. But in this case, I really have no choice. I was honestly going to donate a good kidney just so I wouldn’t have to ask anyone for any help with this.

My name is Hannah Thompson and I am 22.

I am a full time college student and also work afull time job for an amazing hospital. I currently live in Moultrie, GA but am from Hahira, GA. I have an amazing fiancé & 2 dogs who are my babies.

I have struggled with pain monthly and irregularities since I was 13. It progressed as I got older but all of my symptoms were just put to the side by my OBGYN doctor at the time. When I was 19, it progressed to monthly pain and the constant feeling of sand spurs on my ovaries. No cysts were ever found but the pain eventually progressed to the point where I would lose feeling in my legs and now that pain, on top of constant back & abdominal pain is a constant I have to live with daily.

In September of 2019 I had a surgery that diagnosed endometriosis, the cause of all of this pain. This is a disease in which tissue that is found inside of the uterus grows on organs outside of the uterus in a vine like structure attaching to any organ in its path.

Since that surgery I have had no form of relief and have lived in constant pain. some days are better than others but the head fog stays even if the pain eases.

I had to go to the ER in August of 2020 and after multiple lab work ups and a CT scan everything came back fine. At this point I knew my endometriosis was back and there was no ignoring it.

After many tears and lots of prayers, I decided I was going to find someone who understood and would give me the level of care I needed. I sent my records to the Center for Endometriosis Care in Atlanta. After many prayers over that package of records, it was received and Dr. Ken Sinervo, a world renowned excision specialist, reached out to me and told me he had accepted my case and believed he could help. Words I never thought I would see or hear. So I have scheduled a surgery to give me my life back, a life without pain or ER visits, a chance to have children one day and a chance to finally be able to feel my legs again due to pain. My surgery is scheduled for December30,2020 in Atlanta, Ga.

My insurance is generally okay, but when it comes to out of network doctors and a pretty extensive surgery, I am having to cover the surgeons costs out of pocket. Tricare will cover my hospital stay and hospital fees thankfully, unfort just not my surgeon.
The CEC did give me a gracious discount and for that I praise God but I am still having to fork up a few thousand dollars that I simply do not have. I have some in my savings but unfortunately it is only enough to cover the $600 hotel stay for the week I will be in Atlanta and some personal bills while I will be out of work on a medical leave of absence.

I absolutely hate asking for anything but God will make a way for me regardless of whateverthe circumstances. If you can’t give, just pleasepray that this surgery give me my life, energy & ability to be my fullest self that I can be so that I do not have to undergo another surgery in the next 7-10 years. Two surgeries in one year of each other is about all I can take mentally and physically.

“When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I” Psalm 61:2

this is a verse that brings so much comfort to me through this difficult time of having to let go, and let God. Right now I am putting it all in His hands and trust Him with literally every ounce of fight through this disease that I have left in me.
