Long post, but please read.
So this is not the update we wanted to give. I’ve been at Erlanger since Monday evening, where I will continue to stay until I give birth. At the beginning of my pregnancy, I was diagnosed with Placenta Previa, where my placenta completely covers my cervix. With Placenta Previa, there was a high risk of me developing Placenta Accreta. It is where my placenta blood vessels have penetrated my uterine wall, and I will lose my uterus during surgery in order to control the bleeding, which can be a life-threatening condition if gone undiagnosed. My fast C-section has now turned into a major abdominal surgery. I have a team of doctors from all specialties revolving around my care. My MRI showed that not only have the blood vessels penetrated my uterus, but it’s also close to penetrating my colon or other organs behind my uterus. We will be delivering early in just a few weeks as I am at very high risk of hemorrhaging, and our baby will be going to the NICU.
I am calling onto our community with being in the hospital, Jakob's job still requires him to be at work to get paid until the baby is born. His FMLA only keeps his job if he is out. The only problem is he is our next of kin, so in a condition where I am not able to make decisions for myself or our baby, he will have to. He will have to be present to do so as we’re in Tennessee, and Tennessee laws are different than Georgia's.
This is really hard for me to come on here to ask, but for my family, I have no other choice because not only are we going to be hit with a HUGE hospital bill, NICU bill, our monthly bills will continue to become due.
If you like & share to reach as many people as possible, we would really appreciate it. Thank y’all
