Help Hannah Get the Accessible Vehicle She Desperately Needs
Donation protected
Hello Everyone
This GoFund me has been set up to support Hannah Strachan and her family get a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
Hannah is a 4-year-old girl who has been diagnosed with a Complex Chromosomal
rearrangement of Chromosome 11. This is a genetic condition that is associated with a
significant developmental disability. Hannah also has a history of a Cleft Palate repair at 14 months of age, Pulmonary Stenosis, Congenital hip dysplasia (repaired surgically in 2021 but will require further surgery in 2026), narrowing of the corpus callosum, Level 5 Cerebral Palsy and CVI. Hannah is also fully reliant on a PEG tube for all her hydration, medication and nutritional needs. Her condition requires continuous therapy and specialist medical care to support her development and quality of life.
Hannah is supported by a large and dedicated medical team, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists (for both speech and feeding), dietitian, vision therapist, and specialists in ENT, orthopaedics, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, genetics and gastronomy. She attends a special development school and specialised respite, and has weekly appointments across public and private hospitals including Monash and Royal Children’s.
All of this requires a huge amount of travel.
Hannah's dad works full-time, including overtime, just to cover essential expenses like rent and groceries. Her mum, Sarah, is unable to work due to Hannah’s high care needs. As a result, the family is living on a reduced income with no capacity to afford the accessible vehicle they urgently need.
Currently, neither of the family’s cars are safe or suitable to transport Hannah. She has outgrown her specialised car seat, making travel unsafe. Her wheelchair, although essential, is too heavy and bulky to fit in their existing vehicles.
Hannah also has a six-year-old sister, Jasmine, who needs to be dropped off and picked up from school and other activities. Without a safe and reliable vehicle, simply getting from place to place is a daily struggle.
A wheelchair accessible vehicle would be life-changing for this family. It would allow Hannah to attend her vital medical appointments safely, participate more fully in family life, and access the community with greater ease.
Any amount you can contribute would mean the world to Hannah and her family. If you can’t donate, sharing this page would also help more than you know.
