Help Hannah Get Essential Private Medical Care

I have struggled with a range of chronic illnesses all my life; it all began at the age of four when I had to have an operation on my foot and since then it has been one thing after another- from Juvenile Arthritis and Morphea since the age of six, to my health beginning to worsen, from the age of 13 and I have been unable to walk since then. This is due to Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, severe M.E, Chronic Pain and Morphea.

I have spent my life in and out of hospitals, which of course is a difficult thing to deal with from such a young age. Between the ages of 15-19, I was in a paediatric hospital ward, then a psychiatric unit for a year (due to disbelief from the medical profession), leading to then being in a nursing home for the elderly for two years, which was very depressing considering I was 18/19 at the time. This was near Bristol, where my family lived in Devon, leaving me extremely isolated.

Now, at 27, my Mum is my full-time carer, with being unable to move or to do anything independently due to how severe my condition has become.

After this length of time being chronically ill, it has truly taken its toll on my body. I have now been completely bed-bound for almost two years. Life is currently an uphill battle each day due to being in constant pain with various issues, including contracture in both feet, which has continued to deteriorate considerably, meaning the longer this painful issue is left without treatment, the worse they will get. That goes for many ongoing health issues, that I am endlessly struggling to get the right help for.

The lack of understanding in the medical profession has been horrible and at times utterly soul-destroying for myself, my Mum, and my brother. To not have the treatment or care that I so desperately need, now more than ever, has become too much for my health, especially with the severity and complexity of my condition.

I dream of the day, where I can get hoisted into the wheelchair and get out of the house with my family, to enjoy my love of photography and a sense of normality once again.

Due to not being able to receive the right help in any means, we have no other choice but to seek private healthcare.

The money raised will be for the private consultations and the private ambulance services to enable me to see the various consultants that I so desperately need to be referred to, which will allow me to establish what treatment is needed to begin with.

Without this treatment, I am not sure what I will do, with my health continuing to deteriorate.

This is what I dream of doing again.
