Help Hannah get life changing surgery

Donation protected
As many of you know, my sister, Hannah, has recently been diagnosed with Endometriosis and Adenomyosis. Hannah’s been struggling with this for several years, and it’s been a long and difficult journey to find the reason for her pain. Due to the current problems in the National Health Service (NHS), Hannah was continuously dismissed and told that her pain was psychological, but she knew that there was an underlying cause for her distressing symptoms. This was eventually confirmed with MRI scans which showed numerous abnormalities and finally confirmed a physical reason for her pain.

Despite now having the diagnoses, she is unable to access the surgery she needs from the NHS or even see a specialist for a minimum of 19 months. Due to Hannah’s age, even if she waited for NHS treatment, she wouldn’t be able to access the surgery she really needs to fully stop her pain. She has a place at university starting in January, which she doesn't feel she will be able to take up when she's in this much pain. She is also aware the longer it goes untreated, the worse it will get and it may pose more risks to her other organs.

For these reasons, Hannah has spent the last 3 months researching alternative treatment options. She has hit roadblock after roadblock but has finally found a viable option at Franco-European Multidisciplinary Institute for Endometriosis with Dr Horace Roman.

As Hannah gears up for this necessary surgery, the funds we raise will be channelled directly towards:

Surgery cost: 12,100 euros which is around 10,440 UK pounds. This includes the surgeon, hospital, OR, anaesthesiologist, and all pre-op and post-op care fees, including prescription medicines.

Travel and accommodations: Dr. Roman is located at the Franco-European Multidisciplinary Institute for Endometriosis in Bordeaux, France. Hannah will travel by car and use these funds for gas and a ticket to get across the English Chunnel. French law dictates you must be there two working days before the surgery to meet with the Anaesthesiologist and remain close to the hospital for 10 days following the surgery, totalling 16 nights for Hannah’s accommodations.

Accommodation ~ 2,339 pounds
Gas, toll roads, Chunnel ticket ~ 700
Medical Travel insurance - 350
Dog Boarding - 600
Total ~ 3889 pounds

Goal = 15,000 UK pounds

As many of you know, Hannah hates asking for help and it took a lot of persuasion from various people to make this fundraiser happen.

If there is any money left over after Hannah’s expenses, she will donate the remainder to The Endometriosis Foundation
