Help Hannah Fight Synovial Sarcoma
Donation protected
I am writing this with a heavy heart but also with a boatload of optimism. Hannah Thurow is my niece, and she started her battle with cancer (synovial sarcoma) early this summer. I'm starting this gofundme to help offset mounting medical expenses. Thank you for visiting this page and considering helping her and her family in this journey.
Hannah completed her 25 sessions of proton radiation on September 15th and had surgery to remove the mass on October 20th. Biopsy results came in on November 3rd and pathology shows that there are still microscopic cancerous cells left behind adjacent to major blood vessels. Doctors have deemed the risks of removing and/or replacing the vessels too high at the moment, so doctors are developing a schedule for MRIs of her leg and CT scans of her lungs every three months since sarcoma is known to come back (often in the lungs). Additionally, she has started physical therapy to help manage pain and regain strength and flexibility in her leg.
Hannah will continue to stay close to home and her medical team and looks forward to starting classes at College of DuPage as soon as she is able to focus on studies vs healing.
Any funds donated will go directly to alleviate Hannah's medical bills, living expenses, transportation, etc.
If you're not in a position to donate, please send positive vibes, share this GoFundMe and pray for Hannah's speedy recovery ❤️
