Help Hannah Bridges - Youth cyclist hit while training
Donation protected
I love cycling and it's been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Five years ago I started Lampstand Labs to coach a cycling team that would be successful during competition but equally successful as a community of friends who championed one another's aspirations and would be there for each other during struggles.
Yesterday afternoon one of our high school teammates, Hannah Bridges, was hit by a car while she was out on a training ride near Madison County Lake. The young driver fled the scene leaving Hannah lying in a ditch with her bike thrown nearly 200 yards down the road.
Hannah laid in the ditch until the driver eventually came back with her mother, and she was then transported to the hospital for surgery to treat internal bleeding, severe lacerations, and multiple breaks to her pelvis and femur. Hannah is currently in the ICU.
I'm asking our cycling community to please join me in helping Hannah and her family during their journey towards healing. Yes, insurance will eventually cover a lot of the bills, but if we can help them financially manage some of these unexpected costs in the short term, I know it would be much appreciated by this amazing family.
Thank you,
