My name is Hannah Mulbah. I was born and raised in Liberia, and I came to the United States on a student visa to pursue my education.
At the age of 11, I experienced a sudden paralysis that changed my life. I lived in uncertainty, surrounded by people who didn’t understand what was happening—some even believed I was cursed. That experience shaped my purpose and pushed me toward healthcare.
I earned my degree in Biology while adjusting to life in a new country with limited financial resources. After graduation, I worked at Mayo Clinic as a Desk Operations Specialist, where I gained exposure to patient care and strengthened my commitment to becoming a nurse.
I have been accepted into graduate nursing programs and have chosen to pursue a Master’s in Nursing so I can directly care for patients and make a meaningful impact.
However, I am facing a serious financial challenge.
As an international student, I am not eligible for federal student loans, and private loans require a U.S.-based co-signer, which I do not have. Without proof of funds for tuition, housing, and required health insurance, I am unable to enroll and begin my program.
I am seeking to raise $26,000 to cover these essential expenses.
I live simply, carry no debt, and have worked hard to support myself. I plan to continue working part-time during my studies, but I cannot do this alone.
Your support will help me take this next step and become the nurse I have worked so hard to become. If you are unable to donate, sharing my story would mean just as much to me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for being part of my journey.
