Hi all,

My name is Hanna Firych and I’m super excited to share some amazing news — I’ve been selected to represent Western Australia in the Under 13 Girls State Futsal Team for the 2026 National Championships on the Gold Coast!

I’ve been working really hard for this, and my parents keep telling me how proud they are of everything I’ve achieved in both sport and school.

As you can probably guess, I absolutely LOVE soccer and futsal. I’ve been playing for years, and for the last four years I’ve played with the boys — and against them too! For the past season I’ve played for Joondalup City Football Club in the highest boys division. I’m not sure if that helped me or just made me tougher, but now I get to represent WA with the girls, which is honestly a dream come true.

I live in Perth, and the Championships will be held in the Gold Coast in January — which is all the way on the other side of Australia! Because every player has to pay for their own trip, I’m trying to raise $4,500 to help cover the costs. Dad said he didn’t have to pay anything when he made state teams… but he’s kind of old, so that was probably a long, long time ago!
