Help Hanna & Mikey Pringle Rebuild After Losing Both Parents
Donation protected
Hello, I’m Mary Clare, writing on behalf of my good friend, Hanna Pringle, and her brother, Mikey Pringle. On April 28, 2025, they lost their mother Sungsil, after her extremely complicated and painful 26 year battle with Lupus & Scleroderma.
Her death comes less than four years after the unexpected loss of their father, Mike Pringle, who passed away at home from a heart attack in 2021. At the time, he was waiting for the return of his wife and son, after Mikey donated a kidney to his mother, allowing her a few more years of life with her children. Because of this unfortunate timing, and the expenses following major kidney transplant surgeries, the Pringles were never able to hold a funeral for Mike Sr.
Now, Hanna and Mikey are faced with the extremely difficult task of planning a joint funeral for both of their parents, all while trying to manage the complicated logistics that come with the death of a sick parent. They’ve inherited the burdens of their parents' debts, including: two massive mortgages, a home in need of many urgent & large repairs, death related expenses, and basic living costs.
They’re attempting to manage all these responsibilities while also facing the challenges of lost wages, and the loss of Sungsil’s Social Security (which was covering the household expenses).
They aren't new to these struggles, which were only ever worsened by their declining financial situation throughout their entire lives: Mike Sr. struggled with addiction and the resultant loss of his business, and Sungsil was unable to work due to chronic illnesses and dialysis. Hanna and Mikey have spent most of their lives caretaking, and they have a lot to figure out before they can begin to process their grief and continue into the next chapter of their young adult lives.
This is a heavy and overwhelming time for Hanna and Mikey, and so I’m speaking for them when I say that any sort of financial support would be greatly appreciated right now. They need their community, and they need help.
Any money will go directly to Hanna and Mikey to help them cover mortgage/utility payments, house repairs (such as a replacement boiler), death related expenses, etc. Truly no donation amount is too small, and if financial support isn’t viable for you right now, simply sharing this page would be more than helpful.
If you’d rather send your sympathies directly to them, you can reach out to me for contact info. Thank you so much for reading and sharing this, and for being a part of Hanna and Mikey’s support system as they grieve the loss of Sungsil and Mike Sr.
