Hi! My name is Pamela F. I am the sister of Hanky’s owner, Aly. Aly is a compassionate dog lover and handler. She’s always dedicated to her loved ones and would do anything to help them and make them happy. I wanted to make this go fund me as a way to help Aly pay for the sudden vet bills that occurred during Hanky’s vet hospitalization for the last 2 days.
On Wednesday Aly came from work to find Hanky lethargic and debilitated. She searched around the house to see Hanky have gotten into some trash around the house and backyard. Hanky wasn’t able to walk nor move his head to respond to his name being called or anything. He was mostly just laid down, unresponsive but stable. Aly took him to the emergency vet where they started testing him Wednesday night and continued to do testing until they figured out what happened. It seems Hanky ingested something toxic that stunned his basic motor skills and responsive functions. Everything in his kidney, blood and lives levels are fine. He wasn’t responding well to the sedation that was giving due to the overwhelming separation anxiety and fear of the vet. They also have him IVs and drugs to flush out toxins form his body. It ended up shooting up his blood pressure overnight and causing them to worry about swelling of his brain. They gave him a reversal drug that also did not end up responding well to his system causing him to be extremely sedated and debilitated. The doctors recommended Hanky to stay another day so he stayed both Wednesday and Thursday night. After lots of other testing and the reversal drug finally working, Hanky gained strength to stand up and move around by Friday morning (2am-3am at night) finally This morning hanky is now home with his mom and resting! Extremely exhausted we are all happy he is home. Either way, I wanted to take the time to help Aly since she’s self-employed and has a few thousand dollars of vet bills she has to pay for this incident. We appreciate your support and time!
Thank you.
