Hank’s journey started in the hardest way possible. Born at a local shelter to a neglected mother, he was already behind before he took his first breath. At just a few weeks old, he faced his biggest test: Parvo.

Hank fought like a warrior and survived, but the virus took a heavy toll. The severe malnutrition caused by his illness stunted his early growth and left him with a neurological "glitch."

The Challenge: His Road to Mobility

While Hank is now a happy, growing puppy, he has a significant issue with one of his back paws. He has no sensation in the foot and "knuckles" it, dragging the top of his paw across the ground as he runs. Initially, it was hoped that a high-quality diet would bridge the gap as he recovered from Parvo, but it has become clear that Hank needs more specialized help to save his leg.

Because he can’t feel his foot, he is at constant risk of scraping it raw, which could lead to serious infections. He wants to keep up with the big dogs, but he gets tired quickly as his little body works double-time to compensate for the limb.

Why We Need Your Help

As a foster, I am stepping up to provide the medical care the shelter system cannot. We are seeking help to fund:

Neurology Consultations: To see if the Parvo-related malnutrition caused nerve damage or if there is a spinal issue we can treat.

Canine Rehabilitation: Using laser therapy and professional physical therapy to try and "wake up" the nerves in his back leg.

Supportive Gear: High-quality boots and "anti-knuckling" training socks to protect his paw and keep him moving safely.
