Cats must gossip amongst themselves. We've had two cats find us when they need help within the past year, and we are at max capacity. Not only max capacity, but I'm even tighter on funds than usual, as a cold is making the rounds through our cat family after adopting a street urchin a couple of months ago.
"Hank" (he looks like a Hank) first visited us two days ago. He didn't stay for long, but he did stay long enough for us to see a gnarly injury on his leg. We gave him some food and some pets, but he didn't stay long after my attempts to provide first aid. He came back to see us yesterday, and obviously knows a good thing when he sees one, as he stayed over on the porch last night.
He appears tame, and tame enough for me to entice into a carrier or cage to get to the vet. Unfortunately, my area doesn't have enough funding or rescues that can provide assistance. Our city services are pretty much limited to an adoption or putting animals down, and rescues are overtasked and underfunded. This fundraiser is an attempt to get him some medical attention before he falls victim to an infection or loses the function of his leg.
Our long term goal would be to get him well and find him a home. He is very sweet and very obviously used to have a home. If you can, please give Hank a hand.
