Hank has had an incredible life and is fighting to keep going...
On my 17th birthday, this baby pug arrived on my doorstep and I instantly knew he had a heart of gold.
He's climbed mountains in Hawaii (where he gained the nick-name "Warrior Pug") and has gone swimming in fresh country streams through Pennsylvania cornfields, joined me on countless coastal road trips from Maine to Florida and beyond.
Through all of these adventures, Hank has offered his love and unconditional kindness to every Being he has encountered.
Hank has always been my best friend, my bear, my rock. He has seen me through marriage, divorce, homelessness, cross country moves, love and heartache.
Now, Hank is two months shy of his 15th Birthday and has been diagnosed with an aggressively cancerous Mast Cell Tumor which is on his back left leg. This cancer is not curable, but can be removed with surgery.
This amazing dog continues to teach me everyday about loving fearlessly and asking for what you need.
So now, we both ask for your help...
-$200 to see a dog cancer specialist
-$100 for medication including steroids, anti-histamines and antibiotics
-$800 for Ultrasounds and X-rays to locate the tumor
-$900 + for anesthesia, surgical removal of the tumor
The procedures to fight this cancer begins on Tuesday, 3/5/2019
and will also be the day we close the campaign.
