Help Hank Get Back On All 4's

Donation protected

Hey all family and friends in our lives. April here. For those of you who have had the extreme pleasure of meeting Hank, you'll know he is the highlight of your day. Always excited to meet and greet everyone he can and show you his awesome smile... I dare say he has probably even tried showing you that at 125 pounds he is the ideal lap dog as well. Heaven forbid that if you come over to "his" house to visit Scott or I and you don't immediately go up to him to let him say hello, he will ensure you hear about it by barking, squeaking or howling at you until you mosey on over to him to appease his royal highness.

Within the last 2 months our poor big bear has been through quite the ordeal. At the end of March he went in for Entropion surgery on all 4 of his eyelids - nothing like a good old nip and tuck on a 14 month old. He had a few set backs and had seizures before and after that procedure. But as he was on the road to recovery -and for those of you that know Hank- he was his normal Hank self and decided that his legs were jello and slipped on the floor, sprawling and dislocated his hip. The poor giant was put under at the vet where we popped it back in and he was confined to an immobilizing sling on his back leg in hopes that it would lead to success and nothing too serious.

Fast forward to about a week ago and he was released from the confines of the sling, however the news was not what we were hoping for. His hip (although being in place in one spot) was still out and our big man requires surgery at a specialist in Vancouver. We are waiting to hear back from the specialist if the surgery will be today (May 11th) or hopefully some time this week. Hank is currently staying at the Canada West Vet hospital awaiting that decision as are we to hear back for the confirmation.

So here we are at a crossroad. Both Scott and I rarely ask for monetary help as we are both take it as it comes and put our heads down and work people. However after his eye surgery the purse strings are a little stretched recuperating from that hit. I figured why not try asking for help to see where that gets us. All one can do is ask. So here we are. Reaching out and asking our loved ones for a little help. You all know how stubborn both Scott and I are, and the work that we put in to avoid asking because we don't want to burden our family and friends.

Here it is: In total Hank's surgery is going to set us back roughly $5500. I've decided that even half of that or the $2500 that I've set out as a goal is enough to cushion some of the blow a bit. Anything helps. At this rate I would probably even take your empties to put towards the Hank fund. At the end of the day we appreciate any help provided and will be forever and extremely greatful to you.

Thank you for reading all the way thru this blurb.

Love April, Scott, Trigger (the brat cat) and of course
