I am a close friend of Haneen Mahmoud and I am based in France. It’s already been multiple year we are talking and calling each other regulary, since the start of this evil situation in Gaza. Through our video calls I can only see with desolation the environnement they are left in.

Me and other friends of Haneen worldwide try to help her as we can, raising awarness and funds, trying to make their daily life a little bit less uncomfortable and painful. Let’s help us in this! Here is Haneen’s testimony and story so you can learn to know her:

My name is Haneen, an 18-year-old student from Gaza. Since October 7, 2023, my family and I have lost so much. Our home was destroyed, my school was destroyed, and the life we once knew was taken away from us. We were displaced from our home and forced to live through circumstances I never imagined I would face.

I live with my parents and my siblings. My older brother also lives with us. He has a serious mental illness, is divorced, and his three children live with us as well. We are a large family, and meeting our daily needs has become increasingly difficult.

Despite everything around me, I refused to give up on my education. I continued studying under extremely difficult circumstances and completed my Tawjihi exams with an average of 98.3%.

This achievement means so much to me. It is proof that even when everything around me was falling apart, I continued to hold on to my education and my dreams.

My dream now is to study Medicine and become a doctor. I am sharing my Tawjihi certificate with this campaign because I want to continue the path I worked so hard for and build a future for myself and my family.

I am also trying to find ways to work online and contribute to supporting my family, because I do not want to depend only on donations. I want to work, continue my education, and one day be able to support my family myself.

At the same time, we are struggling to afford our basic needs, including food, clean water, medicine, hygiene supplies, and other essential household necessities

This campaign is about surviving today and having the possibility of building a better future tomorrow.
