Hello. I am Kalman Christer from Iceland (living in Germany), I run this fundraiser for my friend Haneen Akran Qattawi. Our aim is to collect funds that she can use to feed and shelter herself and her loved ones. Although a ceasefire is in place, food is still scarce and the economy is almost nonexistent, so Haneen has to rely on funds from international donors for her basic needs. Here is Haneen's message

Hello, my name is Haneen Akram. I live in Gaza Strip. I finished my university studies in English Literature and joined to complete my Master degree in business Administration, but still not completed because the genocide started. I am striving to gain serious support from free people around the World to provide aid food and shelter for my family. The situation is unbearable, as you know and may have seen in the media, but in reality, it is much more difficult, even for animals.

We were forced to flee more over 11 times. From Al- Zahra'a City to Rafah to Khan Yunis to Dair Al-Balah then Al-Nusairat Camp. It was very harsh displacement and suffering for us. We were forced to leave our home after it has been completely destroyed in the 11th day from the genocide.

We are family of eight from Gaza, we lost our dad at the beginning of the war, ended by living in a tent in Al-Nusairat Camp, tent which was nothing more than a piece of cloth that offered no protection from the scorching sun or the winter cold.

The cold shows no mercy, and all we have left is hope and prayer.

Help us rebuild our tent, every donation is a brick of safety against this harsh winter.

How long this suffering last?

Over the course of two years of war, we have lost everything.

We lost our home... We lost our future... We lost our dreams.

We are starving, scared and facing death every second. This is not a nightmare. This is our daily reality in Gaza. Our children are trembling from hunger, living in fear, and sleeping to the sound of bombs. Please, don’t look a way. We don't ask for luxury. We just want to survive. As I used to teach students before the genocide, recently I started to teach kids again English language because the kids have forgotten everything which have learnt before the severe war. Please, don’t ignore us.
