Help Hanako's Family Rebuild After Altadena Fire

Hi friends, I’ve decided to start a GoFundMe for one of my dearest and oldest friends, Hanako and her family, who’ve, like so many, recently lost their new home in the Altadena fires. For those who don’t know her, Hanako is a kind, gentle, and modest soul who has shown up for me as a sister more times than I can count.

Hanako and Chris met at the Huntington Gardens in Pasadena in 2014, and the two eventually married in 2018 at the Japanese Tea Garden in the same town. In 2020, they welcomed their first daughter, Sophie, a curious and willful little girl, and purchased their first family home in Altadena in 2023. The two poured their hearts into renovating this home and were so excited to continue their lineage in the neighborhood that has meant so much to them. After a long year with personal and health-related issues, moving into this home was going to be their respite and now it’s all gone. Hanako is the type of person who would never ask for help, and so that is why I am asking. The insurance policy does not cover all they have lost, and as they navigate through the next phase in the aftermath of the disaster, I hope you consider donating to their rehabilitation, as no contribution is too small.
