We are raising money to help Hanafy, Nahed and their three daughters buy an air conditioner for their house in Cairo, Egypt after their air conditioner was stolen. The air conditioner they had was stolen recently. The heat index in Cairo has been over 100 F daily for quite some time now. and is forecast to be just as hot for a while. Even the night time lows hover near 80 degrees. The family lives on the top floor of their building. Hanafy is over 60 years old and has a serious heart condition for which the medications can be expensive and hard to come by in Cairo.

The family plans to immigrate to the US in September, but they need to survive the hottest part of the summer first. When they immigrate, they will leave the air conditioner with Hanafy's elderly mother with whom they are currently living.

The cost of the AC plus installation is $1100 USD. Any extra monies raised will be used to help buy essential medication for Hanafy and to support the family's transition to the US.
