Han Solo was hit by a car this morning. The kids are absolutely distraught… unfortunately they all witnessed the accident. The car didn’t even stop as we scooped him off the ground. My nephew wanted to call the police but we unfortunately didn’t get a license plate number. With that being said, our precious pup is in stable condition but definitely banged up. He just got some really good pain killers, got a bunch of x-rays, and had a broken tooth removed that he suffered from while rolling underneath the man’s car. He’s going to need surgery on his right pelvis to get him using his hind legs again. He has a very substantial fracture that is rendering him immobile. He will require surgery to put his pelvis back together. His surgeon estimates the cost being $12,000. But she will not know until she gets him on the table and assesses any potential further damage. Of course we must pay out of pocket for this because the man responsible for hurting him so badly didn’t bother to stop the car let alone give us any insurance information to cover the cost of the medical bills. So we ask you my friends to come together and help Han Solo walk again. Any little bit counts. Us adults and the kiddos would be forever grateful for helping get our little love-bug running free at the dog park with his siblings while flashing his big bright beautiful smile again.
