My name is Abdirashid Dirir, and I write to you today with a heavy heart and deep sadness. My beloved nephew, Hamza, an 18-year-old, was kidnapped in North Africa and held captive in horrific conditions for three long months.

Hamza has just been released, but the toll on his body and spirit is unimaginable. He has endured severe injuries, as you can see in the heartbreaking photos above, and he carries the scars of his trauma. He is currently in the hospital, fighting to recover, and the medical expenses are mounting to £10,000.

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion, and sympathy are just like one body. When one part of the body feels pain, the whole body feels pain.”
