Help Hamlet Walk Again: Support His Surgery

Donation protected
Not many people get to experience what I have with my dog. He is my best friend, my little boy; someone I can speak to, cry to, and always receive a lick of support. I bought Hamlet when I was 20 and have raised him from a pee-happy pup all the way to a lazy old man.

We recently had to bring in Hammy to our local emergency vet due to him losing function in his back legs. We found out he has IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease), a somewhat common experience with older Dachshunds, that sadly got to our Hamlet, causing him tremendous pain and making him shake all over. The risk of him becoming paralyzed is tremendous without this surgery.

We are a young family with five children in the home, so money is always tight; especially after receiving an estimated quote of $15,000 for the surgery to correct the issue, medications, and recovery. I am not one to generally ask for help; I tend to struggle my way out of a situation, but when looking at my beautiful Hamlet, I cannot bear to make him struggle because of my ego and insecurities. I am asking for assistance, any amount helps. He deserves to have a long life, one where he can live without pain. Please help me make that a reality for him so we can see him running around once again.
