Last week, my brother experienced a life-changing injury.

After a laid-back day at the beach, things ended with a light-hearted race.

Unfortunately, us Stewarts are incredibly competitive. Right at the end, fully focused on the win, Hamish went to jump a fence and didn’t see the top beam, hitting it at full speed.

The accident left him with a fractured sternum and the loss of eight front teeth, possibly more. He’s now facing months, possibly years, of dental work. It’s a lot to take in, and it’s going to be a long road.

Hamish and Jenny are new home owners and recently started planning their wedding, set for next July. This should be an exciting chapter, but this unexpected twist has made the road ahead a little more complicated.

If you know Hamish, you’ll know he’s steady, incredibly kind, and quietly hilarious. He’s also the last person you’ll ever hear ask for help, so I’m asking on his behalf.
