I am pleased to announce that I am have offered admissions to graduate school.
The injustice that I witnessed as a little girl living in a refugee camp inspired me to change the world and advocate for forgotten people. I consistently advocate for refugees as a former one myself. Throughout the years, speaking at the United Nations helped me gain experience in networking, listening to people, and being a social justice activist. Working alongside peaceful organizations is paramount to my work--like The United Nations ensuring children are not forgotten by creating opportunities for them. Being an activist means creating pathways for people to grow and fighting for what I believe in. As the founder of a non-profit organization in my home state Maine,, I have also mentored young people in my community in organizing for a better future by combating systemic racism through peaceful protest and organizing. I have volunteered and led campaigns to rescue young women who experienced abuse and oppression. Promoting this sustainability across the world is what I want to--or have been doing with my life. Furthering my education in this manner will allow me to strengthen my advocacy work
As an activist, I am especially aware that leaders are needed in today's political environment. There is so much suffering in the world that can be healed through being empathetic to one another.
As a first generation college student, I am excited about this journey, and yet I know I will not be able to afford the cost of tuition and books. My family and I live in low incoming housing and I provide them with financial assistance.
My goal is to raise at $28,000 to cover my entire tuition.
I invite you all to invest in my education if you have the financial capacity to do so. Any amount of donation is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Hamdia Ahmed
