Hi! I'm Hazel and on Aug 18th I found this sweet girl running loose in the road. She was hungry, covered in ticks, and struggling to open her eyes enough to see. I knocked on doors and no one in the area knew her or where she came from, and her vet visit the next day showed that not only was she not chipped or spayed, but she was struggling with several health issues including entropion. This is an issue with her lower eyelids that caused them to roll inward, constantly irritating her eyes. You can read more about it here: https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/eyelid-entropion-in-dogs
We're calling this sweet girl Hambone, and she truly is a sweet girl. We're happy to be the ones to care for her, give her the medicine she needs, and train her so she can live her best life. However, we had not planned in advance for the wonderful surprise that she is, so we're hoping friends and family can help us get her feeling better more quickly than we could do on our own. We've included a picture of the estimate for her surgery, and are happy to answer any and all questions. If you'd feel better calling the vet's office directly, they're happy to have you call them and place money on her account: Radford Animal Hospital, 7367 Lee Hwy, Radford, VA, (540)-639-3891.
Any money raised that exceeds what is needed for her medical care will be used to buy other supplies for her that may be needed or used to buy dog food for Pulaski County Free Store. We appreciate you all so much, and if you live in our area and would like to meet Hammy, please reach out!
