Hi, my name is Samuela Delogu, I'm 36 and I live in Italy (Marche region), and for several months I have been in daily contact with a Palestinian family in Gaza: Hamada, his wife Reem, and their two children, Bilal (8) and Maryam (5).

I met them during one of the most difficult moments of their lives, and since then I have been supporting them as best as I can. Today I am launching this fundraiser because this family has nothing left. Their home was destroyed, they have been displaced eight times, they live between rubble and continuous bombings, and they lack access to food, clean water, medical care, and safety.

Hamada lost his job due to the war. The children suffer from malnutrition and have not attended school for two years. Their childhood has been stolen, together with their home and dreams.

Here is Hamada’s own testimony:

“My name is Hamada Ahmed Al-Hattab. I am married to Reem Emad, and we have two children, Bilal (8) and Maryam (5).

For two years, we have been constantly displaced because of the ongoing war. Our home was destroyed, and we have been forced to move eight times.

Several times, we had to separate to avoid being killed together by a missile. I lost my job in the public relations sector.

Our home is uninhabitable and located in a red zone. For two years, we have lived without stability, facing hunger, illness, and fear.

Many members of my extended family remain under the rubble because we have no heavy machinery to recover them.

Today, I ask for help so I can buy food, water, winter clothes and pay rent for a safer place. We are not beggars; the war has destroyed everything we once were. Help us in the name of humanity. Our dream is to live in safety, like all the people of the world.”

Ciao, mi chiamo Samuela Delogu, ho 36 anni e vivo in Italia, nelle Marche, da mesi sono in contatto quotidiano con una famiglia palestinese di Gaza: Hamada, sua moglie Reem e i loro due bambini, Bilal (8 anni) e Maryam (5).

Li ho conosciuti durante uno dei momenti più duri della loro vita, e da allora cerco di sostenerli come posso. Oggi apro questa raccolta fondi perché questa famiglia non ha più nulla: la loro casa è stata distrutta, sono stati sfollati otto volte, vivono tra macerie e bombardamenti continui e non hanno accesso a cibo, acqua potabile, cure mediche o un luogo sicuro.

Hamada ha perso il lavoro durante la guerra. I bambini soffrono di malnutrizione e non vanno a scuola da due anni. La loro infanzia è stata interrotta dalla guerra, così come i sogni e la vita di questa famiglia.

Riporto qui la testimonianza di Hamada, che descrive meglio di chiunque altro ciò che stanno vivendo:

Da due anni siamo in fuga continua a causa della guerra. La nostra casa è stata distrutta e siamo stati costretti a spostarci otto volte.

Più volte ci siamo separati per evitare di essere uccisi insieme da un missile. Ho perso il mio lavoro nel settore delle pubbliche relazioni.

La nostra casa è inabitabile e si trova in una zona rossa. Da due anni viviamo senza un luogo stabile, tra fame, malattie e paura.

Molti membri della mia famiglia sono ancora sotto le macerie: non possiamo recuperarli per mancanza di attrezzature.

Oggi chiedo aiuto per poter comprare cibo, acqua, vestiti in vista dell’inverno e pagare un affitto. Non siamo mendicanti: la guerra ha distrutto tutto ciò che eravamo. Aiutateci in nome dell’umanità. Il nostro sogno è poter vivere finalmente al sicuro, come tutti i popoli del mondo.”
