Help Halton Hedgehogs Rescue Network to save more hedgehogs
This year has been a really tough year for hedgehogs with strimmer injuries, nest disturbances, orphaned hoglets and the devastatingly low insect population. Up to 50% of rescues do not survive. These combined factors have caused awful disease and hunger and a huge increased intake across hedgehog sanctuaries. Volunteers are literally working round the clock.
We work with a local sanctuary in Runcorn and a number of other locations. Together, we are on a critical path to get those in rehab disease free and up good weight so’s we can release them in the autumn back to the wild or safe homes if they can’t be released. They are the future generation of hogs in Halton.
Everyone in this project is giving time freely, let’s help them get these critically endangered beauties back in the wild.
All funds will be used to treat, feed and rehabilitate hedgehogs including packages to support those willing but unable to fund supporting rehoming. In addition we will run an education programme to raise awareness to help improve survival rates, create thriving habitats and support the population.
