Help Haliegh find a permanent home!
Hey everyone! My name is Casey and I'm Haliegh's cousin. Her home was ravaged by a fire in the middle of the night, they escaped barefoot with only the pajamas they were wearing. Thankfully firefighters were able to save their cat, Binx, as the fire spread to their front door. I wanted to start this fundraising page for her after there were accessibility issues with the FB donation page set up initially. We appreciate your kindness, generosity and patience while we worked out the kinks!
Haliegh is a registered nurse raising two young children from Dorchester. She has been supporting and caring for her mother since the end of 2020 when she was diagnosed with aggressive late-stage cancer, juggling it all while working on the front lines of the pandemic. Their home was destroyed in a fire mid-June, leaving them homeless with next to no possessions. 3 days after the fire they received the news that her mom’s cancer had spread to several bones and was eating away at them. The blows have been nonstop.
Haliegh is an incredible mom, friend, and family member. She takes her role as provider and protector very seriously and since the birth of her children, has worked tirelessly to achieve a stable, safe and comfortable life for them; and they deserve it all. She is there with bells on whenever someone she loves needs her and is never put out by it. She is there because she genuinely wants to help, and always does.
Haliegh does not hesitate when it comes to helping others nor does she ever ask anyone for anything. Let's show her the same unconditional love and support she not only gives her children and family, but also her colleagues, patients and every person she encounters. Haliegh has a positive impact on you no matter how brief the interaction is and she will help you no matter how long you've known her.
Let's help her get back on track to achieving her goal of finding a stable, safe home for her children. It has been extremely difficult to find something affordable and accessible for her mother, whose cancer has spread to her weight-bearing bones. Not only do they have to find a home, they also have to fill it, replacing all furniture, appliances, toys, etc. Despite the huge financial burden of this situation, there has been next to no support or resources available because Haliegh is working and exceeds the low income limits. They deserve comfort and security after all the tragedies that have come their way, let us band together and be their village in their time of need. No gift is too small, a kind message or visit is just as appreciated. Thank you!
