Halie is my cousin and only four months older than me. This made us extremely close since the day I was born and she has always been someone I’ve admired and loved so deeply. Now, as an incredible mother of three, Halie has spent her life making sure her children are loved and cared for, always putting herself last. But right now, she needs our help more than ever.
At just 32, Halie recently suffered a series of strokes. When she went to the ER, doctors discovered she has a hole in her heart and a possible blood clot. Her small-town hospital did everything they could, but she needed more specialized care, so her husband Marc drove her 140 miles to Houston in the middle of the night. She’s now at Methodist Hospital, undergoing thorough testing and preparing for open heart surgery. The days in the hospital, away from their children and home, are taking a toll on the whole family. Both Halie and Marc are unable to work, and the costs are piling up—medical bills, travel, parking, food, and childcare, not to mention their regular bills and mortgage.
Halie would never ask for help herself, but that’s exactly why I’m doing it for her. She’s the strongest woman I know, a role model to me and so many others. Her wild country girl spirit has made her tough as nails, always doing everything for others. Now it’s her turn to heal and feel the love from all angles. Our family is terribly worried and praying constantly, and any and every prayer said for her is a huge help. If you can donate, share, or simply keep Halie in your thoughts, we would be forever grateful. Your support will help ease the burden and allow Halie to focus on what matters most—healing and being with her family.
