My name is Haley, and I’m asking for help for my dad, who’s been through an overwhelming chain of challenges. A couple of days ago, he was in a terrible car accident on 279. His car was totaled, and he was rushed to the hospital with a broken hip and femur. But this is just the latest in a series of heartbreaking challenges he’s faced

A few months ago, back in December, my dad underwent another life-changing surgery—he had to have his foot amputated from the knee down because of diabetes. Since then, he’s been out of work, healing, and just recently navigating using his new prosthetic. This accident has only set him back from the progress he was finally starting to make and the independence he was working so hard to finally regain.

My dad is one of the hardest-working people I know—he never stops. All he wants is to get back on his feet—literally and figuratively—but right now, he can’t. We don’t know how long he’ll be out of work, and the medical bills are piling up.
